Can you wake me up on Feb 1st please?

God I really hate January. Not that I'm the greatest Christmas enthusiast, but I always feel somewhat deflated when it's all over, and all we're left with is a wilting tree, cold weather and long dark evenings. And sonofabitch, we're having a cold one this year. I'm lucky enough in that I live a ten minute walk from work, or a 2 minute drive if I'm feeling very lazy or it's very cold. Some of my colleagues were telling me that their car thermometres were reading -7C this morning. By 10.30am it was still -2C. That's abnormally cold for Ireland.

It's times like this that I wish I was a hibernating animal, and you could just leave me snoring away until February. If I could wake up 3 months pregnant it would be even better.

That's it, next time I'm coming back as a squirrel. And a male one at that.

I plan to do the same, but I'm hitting the snooze button which hopefully gives me about 11 months extra.

I thinking of a bear (I prefer salmon to nuts).

Ahh hibernating, a common fantacy of mine. I would prefer to wake up after the labour mind you.

Just think of it as a great excuse to drag in from work and head straight to the sofa.

This is probably the first year of my life I was happy to see Jan. 2 on the calendar!

I would love to hibernate too. At least until June...

I have decided I want to be my step-Dad's next cat. Current cat is spending the winter being allowed an entire armchair all to himself next to the fire and being hand-fed snippets of steak and chicken liver.

I've gone off January. I am so fed up of being cold.

Totally with you on the hibernation thing. I sometimes think I walk round in a sleepy haze all winter... I'm not MEANT to be AWAKE yet, dammit! Put me back in my nest of leaves!

A bear would be good too, or a cat. Particularly a cat with owners like us. Our fur babies spent all weekend curled up in front of fire. That's my kind of life.
