18 and counting
My sister and I were talking last week about the Dugger family's impending 19th child. Apparantly my eleven year old niece's comment on the topic was "I think they need to get a hobby". To which her mum replied "I think they already have one, honey".
This reminds me of the time I heard a Scottish musician from (I think) the isle of Tiree. He had 7 brothers and sisters. "It was a great day for my mother when the television came to Tiree", he said.
@ Stacey - it made me laugh too. Amazing the comments kids come out with at times.
@ Sarah - you and me both.
@ Dr Spouse - My brother made a similar quip at my parents' 50th wedding anniversary party. Something along the lines of that they had seven children in a house with no central heating or TV, but that the latter explains the former!
I'm 43 years old, based in mid west Ireland. We have been married for over 7 years, and started trying to conceive in April 06. Since then we've been through the mill somewhat. Five pregnancy losses later, including an ectopic pregnancy in December 2009, I now have one blocked/damaged tube. It now looks as though I will never give birth to a child of our own, so I feel that it's time to reclaim our lives, and start living again as opposed to just existing. We are doing our best to get a life again, one that involves joy, fun and healthy happy times ahead.
